Radio and Podcasts

Dr. Hill started writing professionally in high school, when he was a features reporter for Memphis Magazine and the Memphis Business Journal. As a medical resident, he began writing and recording regular commentaries for National Public Radio member station WUNC, going on to become a commentator on NPR’s All Things Considered. Upon moving to Wilmington, NC in 2002, he continued to record commentaries for NPR member station WHQR. Dr. Hill records interviews for RadioMD’s Healthy Children Radio and Doctor Radio and has been featured in podcasts including Slate’s Mom and Dad Are Fighting.

Books

Dr. Hill’s first book, Dad to Dad: Parenting Like A Pro, won the 2013 Benjamin Franklin Book Award Gold Medal and the 2013 Living Now Book Award Silver Medal. Dad to Dad combines Dr. Hill’s experience as a father with his work as a pediatrician and humorist to produce a dad-friendly child parenting guide that is as funny as it is informative. Dr. Hill is now working as Associate Editor of the next edition of the AAP’s top-selling consumer book, Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5, to be released in 2019.

Dr. Hill is a regular contributor and Board of Advisors member for Parents Magazine and the parents.com website. His articles for Parents have won accolades including the 2016 National Health Information Silver Award in Patient Education Information and the 2016 National Health Information Award in Health Promotion/Disease and Injury Prevention Information.

For three years Dr. Hill wrote the bi-monthly “Needles” blog for Pediatric News. This blog, the only humor column in the world of pediatrics, was consistently the most-viewed feature on the website.
